Description: An antique French bouillon pot, a portable vessel designed for keeping and transporting soup or broth. The bulbous white glazed ceramic container is complemented by a solid metal lid with a sturdy arched handle, which allowed for easy carrying. The lid is marked AP PARIS and bears a stamp referencing the Exposition Universelle Paris 1900 – Médaille d’Or, i.e., the Paris World's Fair of 1900. The ensemble represents an interesting example of French utilitarian tableware from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The ceramic shows minor stains and signs of use, while the metal parts have a natural patina and localized oxidation. Suitable as a collector's item, kitchen decoration, or film prop.
