Description: Historic olive-green blown glass bottle designed for Pernod Fils absinthe, one of the most famous French absinthe brands. A circular glass medallion with the embossed inscription PERNOD FILS, characteristic of these bottles, is applied to the front. Surviving examples with similar medallions are dated approximately to the period 1880–1900. Pernod Fils was one of the most significant absinthe producers; production in Pontarlier, France, began in 1805. Period bottles of this brand are also documented with an embossed glass disc "PERNOD FILS" on the bottle's shoulder. The glass shows natural irregularities, bubbles, and traces of handcrafting, as well as signs of age and use. An interesting collector's item connected with the history of French absinthe, also suitable as a decoration or film prop.
