Description: Large oval serving plate designed for asparagus, made of fine earthenware of the terre de fer / ironstone type. Decorated with a cobalt blue Rouen-style motif, with a plastically modeled recess for a bundle of asparagus. Marked on the underside Jules Vieillard & Cie, Bordeaux, Rouen model. France, 19th century. Condition corresponds to age and use, with some glaze crazing, minor abrasions, and traces of use.
