Description: This oval barrel is made of dark wood and reinforced with two metal hoops. It has an oval base and a lid fitted with a central opening. The construction includes a vertical wooden handle for easy handling. The bottom of the barrel is made of smooth, lighter wood, contrasting with the dark body. The item shows visible patina and minor abrasions on both wood and metal. Such vessels were used in traditional households and in the countryside for carrying and storing water, milk, wine, or other liquids, or as saddle buckets carried on horses.
